It’s Valentine’s Day next Tuesday, but at GAP we’re getting in early.

For humans, it’s the time of flowers, chocolates, romance and proposals, but for our greyhounds it’s just about the enduring love that comes from one of our goofy long-dogs.Come and meet your possible new ‘bestie’ at our Tullamarine kennels this Saturday.

We’ll be open from 9am until 3pm, and you don’t need to make an appointment. They’ll be ready and on their best behaviour, eager to impress on your first date. Think of it as ‘speed dating’, but there’s no rush.

Come and find a possible relationship… perhaps your ‘paw-fect match’? Adoption is just $100, and we’ll make sure you have almost everything to kick off your relationship on the right paw.

Drop in anytime between 9am and 3pm. GAP Tullamarine is located at 444 Melrose Drive, Tullamarine (click here to see a map)

This fun, flirty, sweet girl is beauty and brains rolled into one and we know she is going to make a great family addition. We think she may suit children 10 and over and may also suit living with her own Bruiser– just as long as they are a little robust and happy to play. Her race name suggests ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ but Jess would probably tell you otherwise!

Speedy loves to zoom around and play so we think she would best suit a home that had children 10 and over and a robust medium or larger male dog to play with. Dont wait, she will race out of here in no time!

Xenie

Meet the super adorable girl - Xenie! Xenie can be a bit of an introvert and independent at times but at the same time is the perfect amount of sweet, sensible and affectionate. She walks well on lead and is easy to handle mostly. She has a talent that not many greyhounds can do - she can sit! She doesn't know the command yet but with time we think she will and do it on command! Xenie may suit living with or without a canine brother of medium/large in size, children aged 10 years and older. And due to her quiet nature, we feel she may do OK in an apartment and with elderly owners. She can be a bit nervous when walking near traffic, so a quiet neighbourhood would be best rather than inner city living. We are happy to report that Xenie has successfully completed some extra training in our onsite Behavioural Rehabilitation Program and is now ready for adoption. Xenie has a low grade heart murmur, which doesn't affect his day-to-day life, or require medicating.

He's looking for a household where he's the only dog or with a medium to large dog that's just as cool as he is. Due to his lively nature, Axel requires a home with no old or frail dogs or people - he's got too much energy to tone down! If you're ready to partner up with a fun-loving greyhound, Axel might be the perfect fit. Let's get this party started! Axel has previously had a hock fracture, with hardware, that GAP have removed. This has healed well, and has no pain or lameness associated. Axel does have arthritis in this leg as a result of the fracture, which would benefit daily arthritis supplements.

Sunday's are the best day's when this girl has anything to do with it! She is a sweet, friendly, personable girl that has her bags pack and ready to find a place to call her own. She loves to be "Easy like a Sunday morning" and is a sucker for a warm sunny spot for a snooze. Sunday has recently completed her extra behavioural training program and we are happy she is now ready for her next adventure. As she likes her own space, we think she may suit kids 15+, try as an only dog or with medium to large male companion and full-time workers.
