With his playful and enthusiastic personality, Axel is always up for a good time - whether that's running, playing, or just hanging out with his favourite people. Axel may be best suited to a home with kids aged 10+ who can keep up with his energetic vibe. He's looking for a household where he's the only dog or with a medium to large dog that's just as cool as he is. Due to his lively nature, Axel requires a home with no old or frail dogs or people - he's got too much energy to tone down! If you're ready to partner up with a fun-loving greyhound, Axel might be the perfect fit. Let's get this party started! Axel has previously had a hock fracture, with hardware, that GAP have removed. This has healed well, and has no pain or lameness associated. Axel does have arthritis in this leg as a result of the fracture, which would benefit daily arthritis supplements.

Step 1 - Reach out

Get in touch with the GAP team — we're here to help you get started on your adoption journey.

Step 2 - Information gathering

We'll have a friendly chat to learn more about your lifestyle, preferences, and what you're looking for in a greyhound.

Step 3 - Meet the greyhounds

Visit one of our adoption centres to meet the greyhounds and spend time finding the right match for you.

Step 4 - Welcoming your greyhound home

Once approved, you’ll bring your new greyhound home with helpful info on their care and medical history.

Foster process

Step 1 - Reach out

Apply through the above roles or get in touch with the GAP team to express your interest in becoming a foster carer.

Step 2 - Let’s get to know you

Our team will chat with you to learn more about your lifestyle, experience, and preferences so we can find the right greyhound for your home.

Step 3 - Meet your foster greyhound

When a suitable greyhound is ready, we’ll be in touch to arrange a meet-and-greet and discuss the next steps.

Step 4 - Welcome them home

Once everything’s in place, your greyhound will come home with you - along with all the info and support you’ll need, including their medical history and care guidelines.

Step 5 - Ongoing support

You’re never on your own. Our team is here to help throughout the foster period, and you’ll also have access to peer support through our Facebook group and guidance from experienced foster carers.

Sunday now Sunny

Sunday's are the best day's when this girl has anything to do with it! She is a sweet, friendly, personable girl that has her bags pack and ready to find a place to call her own. She loves to be "Easy like a Sunday morning" and is a sucker for a warm sunny spot for a snooze. Sunday has recently completed her extra behavioural training program and we are happy she is now ready for her next adventure. As she likes her own space, we think she may suit kids 15+, try as an only dog or with medium to large male companion and full-time workers.

Have you ever seen a happier doggo? My Rattus Maxiums here is a simple lad that enjoys simple pleasures, sleep, walks, more sleep, gentle pats and splashing in the pool when its hot. He can be a little unsure of things at times but that will soon melt away as he learns all about the amazing things in pet life. We think he would be best in a home that is a little more relaxed and laid back so he can spend his days snoozing, enjoying the sunshine and a nice walk or two. He may also suit living with another canine friend of any size and children 10+ that are happy to give him space when needed.

Leroy may be greying out on his face before his time but he certainly has a lot of life yet to live, and we hope its with you! Leroy can be a sensitive boy at times and can sometimes be shy with new people but once he has met you a couple times his sweet, gentle, goofy side appears and you have a friend for life. Leroy has recently spent time with our Behaviour Team learning the ropes on how to socialise with other breeds of dogs and he is now ready to start his new adventure into pet life.
