Toby knows how to use his ear antenna's very well to listen out for any treat packets being opened! Toby is a quiet, gentle and sensitive boy that loves having his butt scratched and will show you by throwing his legs around in joy as you do it. Toby can be a little gusto on the lead at times but this will settle as he gets into a regular walking routine with his new family. We think Toby may suit a home with or without another dog and suit children 10+. Make sure to "ear" mark Toby as your favourite and give GAP a call!

Step 1 - Reach out

Get in touch with the GAP team — we're here to help you get started on your adoption journey.

Step 2 - Information gathering

We'll have a friendly chat to learn more about your lifestyle, preferences, and what you're looking for in a greyhound.

Step 3 - Meet the greyhounds

Visit one of our adoption centres to meet the greyhounds and spend time finding the right match for you.

Step 4 - Welcoming your greyhound home

Once approved, you’ll bring your new greyhound home with helpful info on their care and medical history.

Foster process

Step 1 - Reach out

Apply through the above roles or get in touch with the GAP team to express your interest in becoming a foster carer.

Step 2 - Let’s get to know you

Our team will chat with you to learn more about your lifestyle, experience, and preferences so we can find the right greyhound for your home.

Step 3 - Meet your foster greyhound

When a suitable greyhound is ready, we’ll be in touch to arrange a meet-and-greet and discuss the next steps.

Step 4 - Welcome them home

Once everything’s in place, your greyhound will come home with you - along with all the info and support you’ll need, including their medical history and care guidelines.

Step 5 - Ongoing support

You’re never on your own. Our team is here to help throughout the foster period, and you’ll also have access to peer support through our Facebook group and guidance from experienced foster carers.

Dasha has successfully completed some further training in our onsite Behavioural Rehabilitation Program and is now ready for adoption.

Everyone wants a LOVE BUDDY and we have just the dog for you! Meet Moe, the sweet, friendly, affectionate love bug that just wants to look into your eyes and wrap his paws around you - he may also use these eyes to beg for treats too! Moe has the most adorable floopy ears (his picture doesn't do them justice) and when they stick up you almost think he was a donkey. Moe is a laid back kind of guy that we think may be ok for an apartment and children 15 and over. He may be ok living with or without another cuddle buddy of any size too.

The only thing he wants to crush, is your hesitation around welcoming him or one of his fellow hound heroes into your life! Hulk gets a little over exuberant at times, and needs to work on his lead skills, but this is an easy habit to overcome! If you are prepared to be patient and work with him, Hulk promises to protect and defend your heart until his last breath and beyond. He is friendly, puppyish, confident, and needs a yard to do his zoomies in and body slam those squeaky toys. He may suit living with children 10+, full time workers, and may do well on his own or with a medium or larger canine friend to take on the world with. Sam Iam

Sam Iam the super sweet and social boy that just wants to please you and give you all loving that he has to give. Sam is good to walk on the lead and we think he may suit households that love to get out and about. We think he would be better in a home with a yard and no elderly or frail family members (incl. other dogs). We also think they might suit living with children 10 and above or another medium or larger dog as company. Sam has some mild Osteoarthritis which does not affect his day-to-day life

Jeff Lebowski

Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski is an adorable pooch, just look at that cute face! Jeff is a young boy who has lots to learn about life and even though he will be turning 4 this year, he still acts like a big puppy! He can find other breeds of dog (other than greyhounds) a little scary, but we feel with a patient owner who will help him by gradually introducing him to other breeds in the right way, he will realise that other breeds of dog are just as good as greyhounds (well almost ;) ). Jeff would like a home where all the love can be showered on him and he does not have to share with another dog. Jeff is fond of the loud noises younger children can make so a home with teenagers aged 15 years and older, we believe he will do best in a home with a backyard for him to run and play in.
